Whoa, is that an Aluminum 9/0 spool? It's crazy that you land-based shark guys consider that to be on the small side, 4/0HLW's are the standard and 9/0's are overkill for shore fishing. I remember just last year when I said I'd never mod/hot rod old penn conventionals....now i have a bunch of jigmasters and a 4/0hlw w/ a mix of tiburon, accurate, newell and custom parts from our members! I blame it on you guys, but it's alright since modding reels is fun and cheaper than souping up cars.

Fisherman Paul

Usa made, nice.

I used the 114h for skate fishing many many years ago
from the boat, beautiful reels, a tank of a reel,
i had the 113h also, lied up in the garage for years
(star drag in the off position, thank god), sold them
both last 2 years ago as a trade in for something
i would use.

I can't remember 3/0 or 4/0 on reels, but beautiful quality.

Yourself and Sal are not only tackle tarts lol but fine top
anglers too, from the shore a shark on the end of my rod
i would want the best set up as poss, one run he/she
would tear any gears to shreds.

Daron..the first step is admitting you have a problem....naaaah, I don't see a problem here🙄😜👍🏻

Looks like the sharks have a problem!
It can't be too difficult - a lot of people do it.

It's all about passion, the man has passion, way to go buddy.
With that said, as far as I'm concerned, you're just as nuts as I am ;D.
Keep it alive ;).

Sal
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

I have no problems with being obsessive - but I try not be too compulsive :D :D :D

MarkT

I see more inserts than reels so I don't see a problem, I see an opportunity.
