Well I've yet to assemble the guts will all the goodies, but I couldn't wait to see how it'd look. So here it is, my first hot rod reel build.

:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

luck is the residue of design.

Nice job! Is that powder coat or black anodized? Looks great.

It looks like AT's arm & knob.

I didn't realize that Alan's arms were so beefie. They look as thick as Lee's Keta kranks

Looks sharp, nice job. Nice job on the thumb nail as well, it matches nicely ;D
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

The 6/0-9/0 arms are thicker than the 113H or jigmaster arms.

I took the rings/star/post back down to brass, epoxy primes it and did a base/clear on them. As for the side plates, I just did black base and a matte clear. It's the same paint I spray on cars all day (sikkens), we'll see how it holds up on a reel. And it's Alan's handle and knob, I forget what size though.

Alan wanted to be sure that the arm would not bend the way everyone has been leaning on them...so he opted to for thicker and stronger.
