Speedmaster Fighting star conversion

I have both the Speedmaster 2 and 4 Fighting star reals. I understand that back in the 90's shimano made a conversion to remove the fighting star grag. They no longer carry this item based on talking to the repair guys at the Fred Hall show. Does anyone know where to get this kit? It replacing the drive shaft and drag system the same thing?
