The reel seems to be well made, and the inner parts are very simple.

The antireverse dog is stainless steel, a Lever on the exterior moves the black plastic rectangle piece shown and lifts the dog free of the Brass Drag gear not shown,

This is what makes the Mooching reel different than a Fly reel, these is a freespool from the drag.

This is the popular cork drag.  And shown below is an upgrade to Carbon Fiber, with Cals grease of course.

Here is the Adhesive I used, it is very strong, and somewhat elastic when cured.  I,m sold on it as I,ve used it on several other drag plates.
The carbon fiber sheet piece used was about .050'' in thickness.

The drag settings can be somewhat high when trolling as the boat moves at 2-4knots, pulling a planer/diver and sometimes a flasher as well. Drag creep is a problem with some reels as they are nearly maxxed out to work at all......This reel has a single drag disk and it is enormous compared to most moochers..... The cf is the way to go for sure.  Its not sticky, and smooth thru out its range.
I will show a few more pictures later of the insides, as soon as time permits.
I thought someone might be interested in the project, ....... the Kings sure arent reel Happy.   But they taste just fine!
