Been in London since 7/2,  got to The British Museum today, and guess what I found in the ancient Egyptian section with the mummies...Graeco-Roman bronze FISH HOOKS!!!

The two in the middle look like they could have come just out of my tackle box back in Carlsbad.

Thats interesting, those mummys were ahead of there time! ???  If you lost one back then you would really cry?  thanks for sharing.

Those mummies were trained by the zombies.   ::) Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

This guy shows some Greek and Roman hooks too.  His Early American stuff is pretty interesting as well.

Wow, I see at least one barbed hook and one looks offset!

Here's a funny hook story that happened yesterday. I live on a public lake in S Florida. It's right out my back gate in a public park. There were a couple of young boys out fishing yesterday and they landed a Peacock Bass. I asked them what they caught it on, their answer: "a triple-hooker". I suspected and verified that they were describing a treble hook. When I asked him what he put on the hook to entice the fish, his answer was, "nothing, I make the hook look like a worm".(???) It's a little late for the Peacock bass to still be spawning, and they are known to aggressively bite at anything you will present to them, but I never tried an unbaited hook, and never would have thought to do that.... maybe that's what I've been doing wrong all this time!!!
