Great Post, and very nice work too!   This inspired me enough to start another one,  I like the steel gears, and brass dogs are plenty good for me and very replaceable.  T :-*hanks for the great pictures.

here is an option
if you are going to button down the drag to pull
big catfish outa their holes, id consider having
the two dogs work together instead of alternating.
you get a bit extra back play but is a whole lot stronger

   Yep...I'll agree...simultaneous dogs are best for strength. I just can't resist the sound of alternating though!
