Hello good folks,
I live aboard my 1983 40 Defever Trawler 'Makai' here in Eagle Harbor on Bainbridge Island in Washington state. It was originally specc'ed out loaded, so in addition to a giant freezer, she also has 8 rod holders! I've got some fishing gear and collecting more. Have an old Ocean City 993 that could us some help with the drag, and just got a Shimano Triton 300, and a Pflueger Akron 1893 that's got a broken jewel. Been having fun cleaning them, but look forward to y'all lending some expertise.
Cheers,
Ray Henderson

Enjoy! Bring a jacket. It gets down into the 40's in December! You might want to arrange a guided trout and redfish excursion down around Hopedale or Delacroix if you have a couple of extra days. Don't forget your swamp tour. It is mandatory for visitors, along with the steamboat tour of the riverfront. If any young con artist says, "I bet you five bucks I can tell you were you got dem shoes", tell him you got them on your feet, and keep your money. Eat anywhere except Moon Wok. Jazz Brunch at Court of Two Sisters is a memorable box to check off. Dine at Arnaud's and get tuxedo'ed waiters and off the chain food for $$$$$ or go to where they train their staff, Remoulade, same ownership, literally the exact same great food, less formal and relaxed dress code, for $$. Try a Sazerac at the Roosevelt, the most classic of classic cocktails. Avoid the Hurricane unless you like super sweet drinks, and run, not walk, away from anything billed as "the most powerful drink in New Orleans". Look at what the college kids are drinking and don't drink that. "Jello shots" sold by "shot girls" are a scam to sell you the cheapest possible form of alcohol. Late night, early morning, Deja Vu (the restaurant, not the tiddy bar), Clover Grill, and Daisy Dukes, can have an "interesting" clientele along with "variable" service but good post bar-crawl food. Fritzel's is a fun little joint to listen to some jazz. Have fun, be safe.
