Just found this site.

I mostly fish for salmon but like to engage a halibut on the water and on the plate...

Looking forward to learning from all of you, :)
Welcome bighalibut.
Are you getting that monster mounted on the wall? ;D

No too big for the wall, he's shooting for the side of the house.  :D  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

Hi Alan

I've enjoyed reading your posts on other websites over the years and have attended some of your seminars when i lived in Palo Alto some years ago.  I'm very pleased to have "stumbled" onto this site of yours and hopefully to be able to contribute in some way in the future.

Growing up in the Sacramento area,  I have fished since I was a young boy.  Stripers, salmon, trout, bass, bluegills...they're all good...lol.  I lived in So Cal for 25 years and did a lot of saltwater fishing there, including long range trips out of San Diego.  I then lived in Palo Alto where I learned about the bay and salmon fishing out of various landings both party boat and small boat.  I even did an albacore trip out of HMB last year to the Gumdrop.

I'm now semi retired in Roseville and plan to spend the rest of my days and my grandkids inheirtance on fishing...lol.

Thanks for having me.

Russ

Tunabelly

Tunabelly reporting for duty.  I had the privilege of fishing with Alan on the recent 7 day aboard the Royal Star.

I met Alan several years ago when he visited the Senortuna booth at the Fred Hall Show and this was the first time we had a chance to share the rail.

Alan is an excellent fisherman as well as an expert reel repair specialist (he just does the Pharmacy thing to support his reel habit).

Anyway, we had an epic trip that goes on the top of the list of memorable trips for me.

I think the fish felt obligated to die for us when they saw all the "bling" tackle we brought aboard for our 7 day trip (enough tackle for a 16 day trip).

Alan had more "gold" on his reels than a convention of Rap singers wear on their necks.

Alan is my go to guy for reels and tackle techniques and I look forward to being a member of this site.
