Old 140 back to life

Bought a grubby Squidder from eBay in the UK and got around to fixing it up last week. Complete strip down needed because the anti-reverse was not playing ball properly whichever way you had the little Squidder-special extra lever positioned and the one-screw twist apart frame was not aligned properly either.

Lots of thick dried grease inside, covering everything. This was a sort of black/brown grease/grit mixture. Anyway, once removed and all parts cleaned and re-greased with Yamaha marine stuff there was nothing wrong with anything except some minor corrosion to the reel seat and frame posts. The reel now comes apart and re-assembles properly because the grit/grease glue is not clogging the channels in the reel frame and the anti-reverse operates exactly as it should too. But oh my word, what a pain to try to hold all those little bits in place when re-assembling the bridge, drive gears, anti-reverse dogs, their springs and the little extra lever. Got there in the end 

Lovely little reel that is now fit for use again and a great way to spend an afternoon.

Next I need to work on an old Delmar that the guy originally sent by mistake instead of the Squidder but didn't want back, fix up a tatty old 114H and then work on a Tatler IV.
