These friends are from Washington state,  They are brothers and wanted to go fishing togather, so off we went.
We were anchored in about 150 feet of water,  Penn 4/0 reels proved their worth again.  Even though it was summer, it rained some.   Butt thats what the fish seem to like!   ???  See what you think?

Awesome fish!

But why do people keep the clicker on???

Decker

Can't get enough of that Internet halibut fishing!

Reel 224

The clicker as you described is intended to be a strike indicator, some people think it helps them retrieve better or forget that they have it on IMHO.

I just like the sound of it!

I was thinking the same, David.  It's a cinematic effect 8)

Ha-ha, I think you're right.  ;D  I only see that in videos. The sound of my dogs is as loud I'm willing to go, lol.  8)

Thanks for notusing the poor audio ,  its live,  as it was,  i used to dub over the sounds of my grunting and gasping for breath with music butt now it seems like too much work.   its fun to watch what we did and how I could do thing better.    good fishing. :D

Hey GS, if I ever get around to traveling to the extreme opposite (from me) corner of the US, I will definitely look you up!

Reel 224

Like the movie Jaws when the captain hooked up on Jaws the first time, the clicking sound effect was cool.

I pretty much have to dub over the real sound with music because I have such a filthy pirate mouth! I could never post my videos they would never pass the 12yr old rule with the actual sounds of fishing on my boat!

Funny, the other night at dinner my eight year old son said to me, "Daddy, what's all that beeping in the fishing videos you watch?"   :o  ::) ;D

Hmm, yes, I normally am not foul-mouthed, but one time I was on the pier and had a snook cut me off under on the pilings (as they are famous for doing). Anyway, I let out a loud, nasty expletive in frustration, only to glance down beside me and see a little girl looking up at me. Wow, I felt so bad and immediately started apologizing profusely to her & her dad!  :-[

Anyway, back on track, nice Halibut.
