110 spool push button question..

What would cause a spool push button to stay down inside the spool?   The spool doesn't seem to walk to click into place... Thanks, Joe.

Could be corrosion inside, a burr, a jammed spring retainer -- crud down inside -- or just slightly turn the spool until it clicks in place...

Could be something broken inside the spool spindle...

Any good, detailed photos?
