Steve - We will know PJ has gone "all-in" when we see him with a pair of barber scissors hanging around the polar bear enclosure at the zoo.... :d  - john

I got into the fly tying game for a bit just to target bluegills and redear sunfish (shellcrackers) in local waters. I could see it being a dangerous path. I tied a years' supply of san juan worms and they work so well even under a float, that I seldom use anything else.

I have a Lew"s laser lite 50 size spinner on a 8ft scientific angler fly rod ,used to be my fav bream setup. It wont fit in some rod holders so I dont use it much anymore but it was a blast catching a big stumpknocker on that one!

I bought more West Coast Jiggerz KB jigs and some Owner ultra split rings in size 7.... The SOA trips can't come soon enough

Just bought a new Tenkara pocket rod since the company I bought my first one from isn't making replacement parts anymore.

This rod stays in my flight bag or fire pack so I'm always prepared...

Bill B

It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

Gfish

Always prepared is the consummate wildland fire dude. I had a nice Loomis 4-piece, 5wt., beater Orvis Madison and a tiny box of flies, but they stayed in the Red bag or the engine compartment.
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

Do you have a protective tube and a sock for that great rod, PJ?

I bought the tube and sock when I ordered the rod.

Figured you already had it dialed in, PJ —-

But in case you didn't —- I was going to offer you this 15" Wright-McGill tube and a new sock at N/C.

I'll find a rod to go with this tube and sell it down at the round-about in about 9 days.

Fred thank you for the generous offer! I learned a long time ago to buy protection when you buy a rod

The smaller rings are for the daytime and smaller jigs...

I get mine from Stephen Tomasovich, owner of Big T Fly Fishing, in Clarkesville, Georgia.  Good guy.  About $8.  These need to be hemmed shorter to accommodate a short 4-6 piece pack rod.  I generally buy a dozen at a time to save on shipping.
