its a thread wrapping technique called, dragon scale wraps, there are few different ways to achieve that pattern, I think I used two different ways in that rod, I was testing new wraps techniques on my own rod 

I havent done those dragon scales again LOL, but on my next time I will use a thicker thread to make the dragon scales pattern so it will be more noticeable

nope, nothing on youtube from me, there are plenty of videos about rod wrapping and different wrapping techniques, maybe one day I will do a video
