Trying to find out what year this reel was sold. I want to order carbontex drag washers and don't know which ones to order

I saw your post on BD. I'm not sure if the year but most likely the Carbontex drag washer kit used will be for the Trinidad 16/20/30. It'll be best to open the reel and measure the drag washers and confirm with SmoothDrag.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Did the 2003 version have holes in the handle?  I thought they had a solid handle blank.

I guess that you've solved this issue by now, since this is a post from a few months back, but I have the same reel and I e-mailed Dawn at Smooth Drag, asking her the same question as you've asked here.

This is what she answered:

Hi Jon

Actually it's the Trinidad 16 you need, sending those.

Thank you

Dawn

The washers are slightly too big, as Dawn also mentioned that they most likely would be, so what I did was to take the original washers from the Ocea reel, laid them onto the Carbontex washers from Smooth Drag, used a white colored pencil and made an outline on the washers. Then I used very fine sandpaper, and slowly grinded down the SD carbontex washers, until they matched the originals.

Turned out great, and it didn't take more than a few minutes.
