265 spring copper washer?

I broke the 265 down I fish with to replace the bearing and found a mystery copper washer?It is identical to the worm wheel washer 100102,but appears to be spring or bent maybe.I noticed it also fits the axle,could it be slide/axle related ? I have not found it on the schematic yet,but I know Fred knows the answer :cf

It goes on the exterior of the reel frame.

It is probably the tension washer that goes between the frame and the A/R lever —- on the A/R eccentric shaft.  Some are copper, most are steel.

Easy to get these mixed up over the years, left out, or stuck to grease.

I checked my a/r & it does have a smaller diameter steel spring washer.Maybe the previous owner added this one who knows?
