The amazing thing is Blake Snell has won the Cy Young award twice!  But he has never pitched beyond 7 2/3 innings in a game in his entire career!

So last week he pitched 6 innings in one game and struck out 15 (he strived to tie his personal best for a game)!  Yesterday he pitched his first complete game in his career, but stuck out 10, in his no hitter.  During an interview he said that when he realized he was going to pitch beyond the 7th inning, he changed his approach to conserve his pitches and not strive for strike outs.  He threw only six pitches in his last inning, now that is pitch/energy conservation!
