Torium 20HG spool friction

Hello!
I am not very familiar with this website so bear with me if this issue has already been addressed on this forum before.

I was doing some maintenance on my torium 20hg that I bought recently used and after putting the reel back together I notice some grinding a friction coming from the spool. I was wondering what the source of the grinding is coming from and how I can fix it. I did remove the shields on both spool bearings and I did not put them back on. I don't know if that is the reason.

I think I found the problem. The spool has a slight dent causing friction and uneven spinning. Does anyone know how I can repair this or if I need to buy a new spool? I fixed the dent but its not 100%.

the most expedient way would be to take a file and knock down the high spot.  bending it back might also be a possibility!
