Hi
Anyone got any tips on cleaning this reel up , it's had a hard life and the handle screw needs replacing I heard just spray with warm water and wipe over
I realise it's not old but was hoping a daiwa fan had a suggestion
Thanks

The Sol is one of my favorite reel lines. That one's gonna need alot more than a spray of water! You should do a full maintenance on it just like any other spinner. I imagine the roller bearing might need replacing maybe, and you should smooth out the spool lip with sandpaper or it'll tear up you line.

The water spray is just a regular maintenance task for after using it in salt water. It's well sealed so the water rinse was one of the selling points for these reels.

I have a 3000, it's the smoothest reel I've ever owned, the handle wants to fly out of your hand on its own! It's not exactly modern or vintage (ca. 2005) but frame and rotor are still metal (aluminum) and it has all the modern advantages. Tackletour.com did a great write-up on the 2500 and gave it high praise.

Check this out, it has a complete breakdown on the 2000 which will help alot:
