Hey, all!

Scored another 1932 Allcock Duplex ambidextrous spin reel.

What fun is just one, right?

This old girl had a previous repair with a new non stock finger tab replacement and line guides added to the bail arm.

A bit ugly, but firm, functining, and has held for who knows how long.

Bail arm is a bit off kilter, but does not contact spool anywhere.
Probably tweaked holding bracket, or due to repair, and since it's no issue, other than symmetry,  I ain't cryin or messing with it.

Had a pretty sad old finish and decades of grime, so gave her a complete strip and restore.

Already repainted my 1st Duplex in factory black.
Sooo...

Once I stripped this girl to bare metals, I had to leave her bare.

Wow! Steampunk Terminator???
Not even sure...

Amazing works of art and utilitarian handheld machines.

Pretty sweet antique ultralight reels and real lookers!

Peace!

That looks great. I like the polished metal look way better.
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.
