Just bought a Pflueger 550 today, overpriced ebay item that didn't sell, seller came back and asked for an offer, which they accepted. Oddly enough I don't own a 2052 yet, so I guess I need a half dozen 2052s. Do we know what color the II 1945 and 1947 were?

CincyDavid

Correction...what color were the HI 1947/1947?

I found a couple of shakespeare reels a 1920 Wondereel, model FK, very heavey reel for its size, abut the same size as the pflueger akron, and the other is a Shakespeare Triumph, model FK or FR, hard to see it, once again nice heavey reel, cheers Don.
Don, or donnyboat

It's been so long ago that I don't remember for sure. For some reason I'm thinking goldish or brassish, but don't quote me on it.
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)

I have never even seen a picture of the H-I versions. Guess I just need to keep my eyes open and see if I stumble on one at some point.

That's not one of the Shakespeare-built ones but that may give us a clue about the color scheme. I've seen some two-tone green H-I reels too, not too far from Heddon greens.

No, that's one of their cheap, more or less, junk models. You also see them a lot in green. The models 1945 & 1947 are & look exactly the same as the Shakespeare 2052 & 2062 only in a different color.

Good to know.
