Good luck on that Card 6/7 8734 bail plate, Paul. Those things are a tough part to come by. If all else fails there's one on eBay right now, but he says it's his last one.

Always wondered why such a quality reel model would have bail arms made of graphite/plastic. It's too much of a stress part..., but it is the first busted one I've seen.
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

No problem on the Cardinal 8734 bail plate/mount, Paul —-

Got a bunch, will send out.

I've seen quite a few of those that have been chipped or broken, at least a dozen or so. It usually happens when people abuse them or drop their outfit by accident. ABU offered a metal bail plate, too, on the saltwater versions. The metal bail plates are even harder to find than the plastic ones. I've got a couple of reels, 6s & 7s, with the metal bail plates.

Thing I'm most concerned about is the SB bail trip ramp. Bail trips fine as is but I assume it had a ramp bc my 925 and 935 both have one. Don't want to wear the trip post down to a nub. If Fred doesn't have one and I can't find one, I may have to make one. Unless a parts reel comes up really cheap. Shipping costs kindof kill that idea. Any ideas as to materials for making one? Unless I temper the appropriate strip of some metal, perhaps a strip of nylon, polyethylene or other plastic?

Not exactly sure what you have going on, Paul, but here's a pic of my 930 with the ramp. I'm pretty sure the ramp is made out of bronze. I suppose brass would suffice if you can't find a piece of bronze. I find it interesting that the ramp, per se, isn't shown on the schematics (for any of the models. I almost bet #38 was supposed to be the ramp but it got labeled wrong since #34 mentions the bail & trip bracket "not shown".

Thanks, Tom. I see. I think you are probably correct on that schematic error. I saw the swell that holds the bail trip post in the body's rotor support flange (my lingo for lack of better) as the ramp misplaced. Doh! Thanks for correcting my vision!

You know, the bail trips very nicely on this 930 without the "ramp". But that ramp is bronze for a reason. Going to have to make something, if Fred doesn't find one in his menagerie of wonders.
