Do any of you wear dark glasses indoors or at night for driving?

The human brain is an interesting place when it's brand new. As it gets older it's straight up wild how many different ways it can change as it matures.

Did you have these issues when you were younger or did it all start recently?
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

I think I had most of the issues as a child and maybe just didn't notice as much. Feeling ill/week in school suffering under the lights, falling down being called dramatic, dumb, bad kid... certainly had bad grades and did not want to be there.

Always felt dumb, still do.

Yesterday had to buy two cases Modelo for The Old Man, drive it out to the ranch. I unload his beer and do my normal routine of unloading my pockets into my truck so as not lose anything around the ranch- phone, wallet, keys- no wallet in my pockets. Sometimes it falls out in the truck, me and the old man scour the truck, no wallet. We drive back up to the gate where is the only place Ive been out the truck beside the store, we search the ground- no wallet. I call the Auburn Smart and Final (Fart-N-SMile) and plead my situation to the nicest lady who sends out a search crew to the cart corral and parking lot- no wallet. I talk to another super nice manager lady who asks me what time I was in, what I alook like, what am I wearing, she has me on the phone while she is watching the security-film "Ok sir her eyou are, yep, paying for your beer and theres your wallet into your back pocket and out the door you go"  I am wearing sweats, super saggy sweats I didnt even know had a back pocket, I never use a back pocket- I reach back there and there is a wallet. "Maa'm my wallet was in my back pocket that I didnt even know I had, I am so sorry, Thank you so much. I have really been going through it lately. Please be sure to thank all of the folks who looked for my wallet that was in my own pocket this whole time." The Old Man is laughing so hard he had to pee right there.

That one is kinda funny. That was the first time you(absentmindedly) used that back pocket?

I'm in the USA (California).  Agree that it sucks for the patient to have to do battle with the medical system to get adequate resources. I'll send you a PM.

Oh it was hilarious, I never use a back pocket even when I have one, so odd.

My apologies to Dave if I sounded hostile, it was not my intent, humor fail. My nuero is great, just overworked.

I appreciate all of these replies so much.

So now you know what that empty feeling is like, I must admit, I dont use my back pocket muck these days, most of the pocket have velcrove on them, & what a pain to get open, & when you do, as you go to place anything into the pocket, the velcrove hooks up again. what a Hassel, cheers Don. cheers Don.

My wallet is this tiny little leather thing my wife and son made me, just a leather card- holder really. SD Chargers helmet embossed on one side, T-Rex on the other. I love  it. So small it doesn't bother me in my pocket because I hate having things in my pockets. HATE IT. I never have cash (not allowed) , barely any fits in there anyway have to fold it up tight to get in there. I carry one bank card, license, just the absolute minimum, just like on my boats when I fish. I hate having extra stuff.

Hi Joel,

Look up Z1 glasses. They are tinted blue and I believe this what Julerometer maybe speaking to.

Are you by chance noticing more symptoms this time of year vs say summer?  Perhaps the additional artificial light we all need during winter is affecting you more.

Hope this helps you,
Matt

Yes. I am also indoors more, in gyms because basketball season...but I always feel worse in mid-late winter.

Though in the Summer - going into stores that have offensive lighting it feels worse in summer because of the transition from hot to cold a/c air for some reason makes it more intense. Going back outside into the heat is a relief no matter how sweltering.

I think one of the reasons Baja is where I feel at my best is maybe the light. Not just the sun itself but the warm vibrant colors of desert and even the night sky I never quite get the same low levels of feeling bad.

searching for Z1 now...

Ooh,  Matt is onto something.  There are studies that back up Z1 lenses and similar products for this situation. Here is an older one:

https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16529617/

Probably worth looking for an optometrist that specializes in this stuff.  There are probably different flavors of lenses for different situations by now.

Here is how dumb I get to feel so very often. I am wearing blue-lensed glasses right now. They are not z1 branded. They have light blue tint and are what the optometrist sold me along with the autodimmers after the diagnosis.  "FOUND MY WALLET GUYS!"

Joel.B

so these are only helpful for me when looking at the pc screen but have offered no relief from other offensive lights as they were intended to do as I think she had hoped. I should try darker, and am going to also take an eye patch to next game, lord help me if some Raider fan tries to Hi-five me ....

Hi Joel,

I wear blue blocking lenses at work for heavy computer use. If you wear blue blocking lenses them half on and half off you should see images that look more yellow with them on vs off.
That technology generally blocks the blue light waves only.

The Z1 lenses for seizures block the red and rose wave light. Those are more prominent during sunrise and sunset. Are you by chance around an infrared heater in the winter as well?
