Do any of you wear dark glasses indoors or at night for driving?

I'm in the USA (California).  Agree that it sucks for the patient to have to do battle with the medical system to get adequate resources. I'll send you a PM.

So now you know what that empty feeling is like, I must admit, I dont use my back pocket muck these days, most of the pocket have velcrove on them, & what a pain to get open, & when you do, as you go to place anything into the pocket, the velcrove hooks up again. what a Hassel, cheers Don. cheers Don.

Hi Joel,

Look up Z1 glasses. They are tinted blue and I believe this what Julerometer maybe speaking to.

Are you by chance noticing more symptoms this time of year vs say summer?  Perhaps the additional artificial light we all need during winter is affecting you more.

Hope this helps you,
Matt

Ooh,  Matt is onto something.  There are studies that back up Z1 lenses and similar products for this situation. Here is an older one:

Probably worth looking for an optometrist that specializes in this stuff.  There are probably different flavors of lenses for different situations by now.

Hi Joel,

I wear blue blocking lenses at work for heavy computer use. If you wear blue blocking lenses them half on and half off you should see images that look more yellow with them on vs off.
That technology generally blocks the blue light waves only.

The Z1 lenses for seizures block the red and rose wave light. Those are more prominent during sunrise and sunset. Are you by chance around an infrared heater in the winter as well?

Never much for sunglasses; last few years, as I get older (maybe smarter) I have been wearing them more when driving & fishing; eye doc says I have small cataracts; that was @ 5 yrs. ago, and last few visits, he said they hadn't changed much; would like to think the sunglasses helped.  Had a bit of extra $$ left over from annual insurance allowance for dental & eyeglasses, so went in to optician today and ordered my 1st pair of prescription sunglasses; we'll see how that works out.

It's funny I've refused to set foot outdoors during the day without sunglasses since I was about 17. It's not particularly disruptive I just keep them with me. My vision is still substantially better than 20/20 I can still read the bottom line at the DMV.

The plural of anecdote is not data. But it sure worked out well for me.

For driving at night during heavy rains I have amber tinted polarized sunglasses in each of my vehicles.  Cuts the glare out.  One is Costa and one is Bajio.  I have used darker polarized lenses prior to getting the lighter lenses.  Main thing they are polarized.

The agents at the DMV have no sense of humor.  I was at the DMV for an eye test and the agent asked me to read the lowest line I could read.  I said "The American Amalgamated Printers Union local 85."  He said "this is not a joke and just read the chart." I thought it was a good one despite the scowl on his face.  Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.
