Really, not a problem or a big deal —-

Guy probably made the right call from his point of view.

I respect that.  I was just trying to help by replying promptly to his request, and also doing a little to show and explain the procedure and the part to other members.

A DQ 331N High Speed reel is fairly rare.

So if $8 + maybe $10 shipping, and a small percentage for a tariff —- maybe — is a deal breaker...then he likely wouldn't appreciate the reel anyway.

Easy enough for me to toss the part back in the parts bin.

This is not done for the $$$ —- it is done to get a quality and solid vintage reel back on the water, for the angler to both enjoy and appreciate.  Most folks might think this is corny, or foolish on my part —- but it works to my satisfaction.  And many members and anglers worldwide —- do appreciate the service.

I was just glad he responded, and didn't ignore the offer.  That helps to clear the bench of a loose part!

  From his point of view most likely , 18 dollars is 24.90 Canadian plus what ever the new tariffs are on top of that  .  He can buy another reel for that kind of money . He may also find the part on Canadian E bay or other markets .   And he did not leave you hanging as a member with less than 10 posts !!

Hey sorry if some guys think i did something bad but like oldmanjoe said it's not really worth it for me. Adding 40% on top of the price and customs plus they might charge 13% tax on the value in Canadian. Government sucks. If i don't find a part i will donate it for parts to Fred. And by the way seeing the part was brass i thought i could heat it up and bend it the other way to fit. But i was a little aggressive and it broke almost when it was perfect.

If you would send me your complete address in a PM, I will send it out as a gift, and I'll pay the shipping to you.  Shouldn't be any, or very little in tax or tariffs on a gift with "0" value.
