Spinning Reel Parts Interchangeability

I recently learned some parts will interchange.The gurus probably know or please correct me if wrong,thought it may be a good start.

Bearing:Shakespeare 2062 = Penn 712
3/8"×7/8"×9/32"

Bail Spring:DQ 285 = Penn 712

There are lots of parts that can be interchangable. Most of the time, though, it's a trial and error thing when one doesn't have, or cannot find, the correct part. Sometimes, too, all it takes is a little reconfiguring or adaption to make a part work on a reel that it wasn't  meant for.
