Need help with Lews BB-1N drag stack.

I've run into a problem here with a bb1n. I can't figure out the drag smasher. My reel has more spacers than the schematic and everything I've tried doesn't work. Whenever the drag is tightened, it won't reel. I've seen multiple videos and non of them look like this. It has a spacer, a tension spacer, two shouldered spacers and bearing. I've tried reversing the shoulder spacers wide side and narrow side alone the bearing etc an nothing will work. Any help I'd appreciate!

Did it work before disassembly?

No experience with this particular reel but I can't help thinking if yours is showing parts that others don't have and aren't shown in the schematic maybe in the name of science remove those extras (if you haven't already and see if it works better? )
