Anyone have any African fishing adventures to share?

I just came back from a short African safari that my wife arranged as a site visit for her travel agency. While speaking with our guide, I learned there is an island in Lake Victoria, north of Tanzania, called Migingo Island. It is the most densely populated island in Africa and the world (check out this video: ). Their entire economy relies on commercial fishing for Nile perch.

And no, I didn't get to visit, but I'm really interested to hear if anyone has any African fishing stories to share!

Additionally, here is a few photos of the "Big 5 (Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Cape Buffalo, White Rhino)" from the 2000 photos taken from our trip. The Rhino photos are not worthy of posting as they were seen from more than 700 yards off, so I added the Hippo, Cheetah and Great Migration photos.

Nice pictures, what a trip. What country did you go to?

I haven't been to Africa but it's on my bucket list. This is a great fishing Youtube channel if you're interested:
