I was commissioned to build a rod for one of our favorite peach state residents. (JGP12000)

He wanted a modern rod that a vintage reel would look "at home" on. Green, white, and gold, were the colors we settled on.

The blank is a late 90s brown finish Shikari 6'-2" and I'd estimate 8-15# line rating.

We settled on using Fuji KR guides but the layout is a bit closer to a "cone of flight" arrangement because he's probably gonna run mono line. 7 guides plus tip.

Looking forward to him updating the thread with the first fish he lands on it.

Looks really good , nice thread work .      >:D   The only thing I see wrong is when you took the picture of the cone of flight  , there was a little flex in the stick and the tip top is not centered . :fish

Two rules on the boat
1. Fish where the fish are
2. See rule #1

I have to say Jason outdid my expectations !It is truly a work of art,the marbling, green thread & brown graphite blank,it is the best looking modern/vintage rod I have ever seen!

I wanted a 712 on there but it felt
Too heavy.I tried one of my 2062s & it felt perfect. The Maroon kinda blends with the brown blank.I will test drive it this evening.Jason did some test casts & reports= a mile. My 2062
Seems to be a good match it casts a mile with it's given spool design. My pictures do it  no Justice, :al

Update:I tried the 716 I got from Fred years ago & it a match! Not intentionally but the green thread actually matches the Greenie.

The 716 is the Perfect reel weight for the rod & looks better in the sun.I will get more better photos.
