I have seen MIB in stores & gave it an eyeroll.Figured it was just another snake oil. My cuz gave me his real world results on a $50 yard sale
Pressure washer. It wouldn't start so he followed the MIB instructions to the T.24 hours later the PW fired right up.He is a believer now

I recently  watched several MIB youtubes & one in particular shows MIB surprising  better than seafoam.

I got my '74 9.9 Evinrude firing on both cylinders again,but will not start,it's getting there.

Yesterday my grandson & I got a new
Plastic tank,fuel line,2 cycle oil &
Non ethanol gas. My spare '74 metal tank had rusty water in it & the other
One has 2 yrold gas in it,so it was time to upgrade.I am keeping the tanks & will clean then up just cause, it's a  '74 man !

Currently, I am doing the 24 hour MIB soak
& will update with the results.

I swap my lawnmower air filter and spark plug every year or so, give or take. But when it gets a bit weak I'll put a sploosh of that stuff in the gas tank with the gas and all the sudden it roars back to life.

Smells like you wanna wash your hands really good if it gets on them. Also smells like you shouldn't sniff it too close unless you're into that sort of thing

I have not use any of that MIB , for small engine mostly clean carburetor solve the problem . If problem came from worn ring , or leak valve nothing will work unless replace ring or reseat valves . If no fire problem normal is spark plug or coil

My catalytic converter is bad (p0420) and I have used one of the cat cleaner bottles.  After following the instructions, clearing the code, driving until all my codes were ready, and immediately going to smog-- it passed. However, 50 miles later the code came back.  The bottle was like $20. Considering that my car is old and I'm not planning on replacing my cat, the purchase was worth it (we have to smog every 2 years).

Most of those products are fairly ruthless solvents. They can work quite well on simple engines that are varnished up from having old fuel sit in them. If the goop dislodges in large bits it can cause its own list of problems - same as oil flushes.

Update:
We tried to start it last night & it did start. It wouldn't stay running,but I think the carb needs to be adjusted now.The last we can remember it hasn't started in at least 5 years.This is definitely progress in the right direction.

I will update again when it is ready for the water.
