Hey, all!

Back with an extremely rare and hardly seen, 1948 Italian Crebbia Brevetto 424 spin reel made by APM Agal, associated with maker Alcide Aguzzoli in Milan.

A magnificent gloss black finish with amazing iron red Crebbia 424 badge and rear gear ratio badge.

Mechanical gear bail arm and single piece drag capstan.

Unique brass crank arm and fully functional anti reverse.

I gave her a stripdown and refresh before taking her out for some well deserved action after who knows how many decades of shelf life.

Amazing Hardy Altex lookalike, but actually smoother than any of my Hardy's.

Mechanical gear bail arm is quiet, quick, and smooth.

Her maiden voyage after stripdown went great! No issues and self contained drag capstan worked properly, too.

Caught 22 crappie and a blue cat to refresh the memory of this Crebbia's past life!

Love my old school reels and love USING them more than anything.

Nuances you won't experience on a shelf, but only on a rod with fish.

 Peace!!

Thanks!
I was only able to give her a partial stripdown, due to crank drive gear collets being seized, not allowing full strip.
I just cleaned with guts intact.
I really wanted to view the anti reverse set up, but didn't want to risk breaking anything, so another day...
A really wonderful reel to use!

Thank you.
Not factory crank arm, as I noted, but I like the look of this one better, actually.

A fun one to use!

Yes. Anytime I stripdown these old girls, I always think, no hand has touched these internal parts for 80-90 years, until me.
Pretty dang cool to be basically, in their shoes for a moment.

Well done, as usual, Sir!

Neat old reel, and you were wise not to take it all of the way down.

It obviously works well as it is —- without the risk of breaking an impossible to find little part.

Thank You!

Best Regards, Fred

Yes. I learned a long time ago, leave well enough alone.

Thanks, Fred!
