Customized 1936 Hardy Altex no.2 mk.IIII

I recently aquired a 1936 Edward Broadfoot Hardy Altex n°2 mk.IIII reel.

She was missing the spool and all drag components.
So was tagged as, "parts or display ", for $15 usd!!

I have the necessary parts to complete the reel, so snagged her quickly, even if I didn't have the parts, I would have purchased her anyways.

Rough, finish wise, but mechanically, all there and mechanical gear bail arm actuated every time, so a real plus, as the cast gears are fragile.

Since she was cheap and I've got many very nice stock Altex's, I decided to add another to my resto-mod Altex collection.

Went with full gloss black finish and put a straight black, non script spool on her.
ala: Crebbia style...

Polished all brightwork and hardware.

Fitted her with handmade plexiglass cover plates, to showcase those beautiful English internals and to really customize her.

As always, mechanical gear bail arm is quiet, quick, and smooth.

Definitely going to put this ebony beauty into rotation for some one on one time with some feisty crappie!

 Yes. Pretty easy to knock em out, too.
