Taking a bunch of top quality rods and reels down to the round-about early tomorrow morning for a tackle sale.

Mostly Fenwicks, Wright-McGill, Eagle Claw, Conolon, and a few other high quality rods lsuch as Lamiglas & Loomis.

Plenty of ultralight setups —- that are tough to find in these brands.

Also a lot of reels —- DAM Quick, Penn, Cardinals, Mitchell's, Daiwa's, Shimano's, and others.

We will see if nothing sells this time of year.  The stuff I am selling is not for the casual angler.  It is for folks who recognize and want top quality gear to last a lifetime.  Don't care if I sell 1, 10, or none.

Just want to give it a shot before I leave on a 10 day solo trip on Monday.

Put this Penn 850SS spinner together for tomorrow's sale this afternoon.  Mostly new parts, USA, 3 bearings, metal, skirted spool, double dogs, Cal's greased CF's, full assembly, tune, and ready to fish.  Some folks recognize the quality of these —-  most folks don't.

Best, Fred

850ss is an excellent reel. Great job keeping it at its best. I love the 450,550 and 650 myself. Perfect reels. Smooth. Penns current top reels are pretty much an ss with a modern touch. My second gen torque 5500 shares the basic mechanics these guys had. Dare I say, the SS is actually built to last longer. You won't see a battle, slammer or torque withstand the test of time like these. I used my torque one season. Needed $200 in parts to get back to normal. And that was with me doing the work. All the bearings failed and needed replacement. Seals really don't seal. My ss reels only cost me a glob of grease. And a little time.

I have Gen 6 n 7 NIB but my SS's will. not. quit.

Gfish

On the weighty side of things, but it's well worth it to me, to put down my SS 7500 for bit to rest my arm.
