Painting Outboards ?

Now that I got the '75 9.9/15hp running I want to make it pretty again.I found new decals & OEM white 172756 paint.

Has anyone here restored an old outboard before.I am doing the engine cover & prop 1st.
The prop spun years ago the new one came black,I should have painted it  then.I  may just "GUNK" the lower blue metal parts for now.

The cover appears to be fiberglass maybe light sanding,any suggestions?

The 2 smaller decals were missing the larger ones on the side are pretty much intact.
