Wow, John, John, John...I'll be down there soon just to see your collection first hand so I can drool in person.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Bryan,
You are always welcome.  If you ever fish out of San Diego and drive down you will pass right by my house.

Didn't even know they made a 501  anniversary edition... wow! ... now I know, thanks John!
You must have some connections to keep pulling these brand new beauties out from the attics.
Nice work,

Nice John. I've been after that red 501 for some time now...no luck, I even listed at WTB section and still no luck. Since we're good buddies, maybe you could sell me one if you have an extra ;D.
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Thanks for the comments.

Dom, wish I could remember her name !!!

Sal, sorry no extras at this time.  But I have been very lucky in my search for these old reels, if I find another
it is all yours.

They are beautiful. I've never seen a red spool 501. What I find interesting about the 500SL is the screw to change the spool is on the other sideplate. Again, beautiful.

Nice pair!!! Ace's and Eight's for sure.
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

Without doubt, the best factory Jigmasters I've seen.
Nice work John.
That 501 is an absolute beauty.

What features make these "anniversary" models. I have one that looks just like the pictured 500SL, so maybe have a collectible and not know it?

John, those are beautiful reels! I looked back at some of your other posts and you have a nice collection! Thanks for sharing with us! Bob

Ditto. Never saw one one with the red aluminum spool. Beautiful.

Thanks for the comments.  Hard to believe the original post was over a year ago.  I have added a few more Penns to my collection during that time.  I will soon post a pic of my latest find, a Penn 16/0 with a 3 piece spool in very good condition.
