One of my favorite quick breads...also known as scones to those on the wrong side of the pond ;D...

Baking Powder Biscuits

2 cups flour
2.5 tablespoons baking powder
5 tablespoons sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup butter
2 eggs
½ cup milk
½ cup raisins, trail mix, Chopped pecans or other nuts, or whatever looks good (need to try breakfast sausage or bacon)

1.   Mix all dry ingredients, flour, baking powder, sugar and salt
2.   Cut butter into dry ingredients until a coarse meal is made (a pastry knife works real well)
3.   Mix eggs and milk
4.   Combine all until moistened, adding raisins.  Top with chopped nuts
5.   Spoon into six mounds on a baking sheet and bake at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes (the wife likes them WELL browned)
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

Great recipie pretty close to mine but we add a little orange zest and orange marmalade in place of the rasins. And some candied cranberries to taste.

Time to dump all that gold and re-invest in pork bellies ;D...or maybe just invest that bacon into my belly :P
