risky business?

I am headed to northern Norway for halibut fishing in only three days. That being said I have a problem with my right side bearing (it runs a tiny bit uneven) and once I pull the drag up the handle doesn't run as smooth. Unfourtanetly I do not have the time to replace it so I was wondering. Is it useable or shouldn't I bring it? This would mean that I would borrow a reel- which I don't want to do!

i wouldn't risk it because could get worse. it  might damage other parts internally. it's this reason why i stopped using one my reels until i replace the bearings. don't you have any back up reels? anyways good luck and tight  lines...

It is a jigging master pe4, the bearing measures 13x5x4 mm the handle gets a little laggy once I get over 10pounds. I will be using 20 pounds of drag. I have spares but not as nice maybe go spinning

guessing that the bearing is already shot.  another fishing trip should not make a difference.

Too good an opportunity to miss Hafnor. Fish the reel for halibut,it will be ok and you can always replace the bearing later.Borrowing a friend's reel is not the same. Looking forward to your report from Norway.

I would clean it and repack it with grease. 
You would be surprised how much better it will work/function..
It may be beyond fixing, but will run much smoother.  Replace it later..
