Hello folks,

When I apply grease to the carbon fiber drags, I just take my brush and swipe it on the top surface of the grease in the grease tub.

I noticed that the rest of the grease is just compacted in the tub as I continue to just swipe the brush on the surface, taking only what I need.

I was wondering....

Sometimes when you see grease sitting in a container or salad oil sitting in a bottle, separation often occurs.

Is it necessary to mix or stir the grease in the tub?  If I don't mix it, am I missing some of the ingrediants that make the grease what it suppose to be because all the lighter ingrediants floated up on the surface and I already used it?  :-\

I do notice that if I mix the grease, the grease becomes very creamy and smooth.

i use a toothbrush.  mix it up a little if it separates.
send me an email at alantani@yahoo.com for questions!

I think it makes more of a difference in colder climates...I don't think it makes a big difference in Hawaii.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

It's plenty cold in Wisconsin Bryan, the grease only seperates when it's hot , it gets pretty thick at low temps.

Thanks for the responses.

I just mixed my tub of grease and it got very creamy.  I just hope that the other reels that I worked on and applied grease to are okay and not missing out on some of the special ingrediants.  :-\

They'll be fine.  There's more oil in the mixture.
