Combining different brand parts

I was just given a late circa 1960 Penn 113h.  I was thinking of putting a topless tiburon frame on it and Jvarence side plates, will they work together?

The only reason I don't want the Jvarence frame is because it has the top post...

Yes they will work but you will need the older style frame (flat on the sides), I believe Alan has some of those.
The new Tib frame is groved on the sides and will only work with stock plates from Penn.
This allows you to get rid of the inner rings and give the reel more rigidity.
