Here is my 112h hotrodded. Alternating SS dogs(thanks Tom), SS gear sleeve thanks to the man himself Alan. The 112h narrow kit from Greg. Acid wrap rod from blacK pearl(alan). 5:1 accurate gears. Nice balanced setup. Just hoping for some other things to come about(like the SS gears in hex or the drop in insert). Really like the way this one turned out.

Thanks for any input.

I forgot to thank all here for the ideas and inspiration to do this. Without this forum I would be fishing out of the box reels and not being so involved with the sport.

Very nice Bob. My birthday is in several months.  ;D
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Nice!  I just put mine on a 20lb acid wrapped rod and will be testing it out of Charelston, OR for a few days.

I won't be able to fish it until this fall. My wife had some major surgery last week and I'll need to stay close to home. So the plan is to fish th NE canyons and hope the weatherand fish gods smile on us this year. Maybe some albacore. This would be killer on them. Really like the Tib narrow on this reel.

Beautiful! I'm in the process of building my first tank (113h) but I think that a 112 will be the next one. Your pics are definitely inspiring!

I don't think this can be considered a true tank though. Maybe just a narrow on steroids. I think tiburon makes a narrow with a closed frame not open like this one. Anyone know about that???

I have a 99 width non open top Tib 112H frame and spool.

Very nice reel. I would rather have the topless frame, especially on a reel this size. The top crossbar tends to get in the way. Bob

really very nice, thanks for sharing...

It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

Will the reel clamp be an issue with the trigger seat on the rod?

BMITCH

I won't be clamping it. I know, I know... I have always thought the same thing. I caught YFT's to about 60# and haven't had any issues to date. I'm always cranking down on it though. Tha real problem is if you want to use the rail for leverage it can be a pita.
