Someone will have one here in the US..you just need to find that someone.  Like I suggested, try calling Everol USA or Southwestern Parts, and someone there should have the contact info of someone who specializes in servicing these reels.  At least thats what worked for me a year ago, when I needed a used right side plate for a 14/0.  I will be back from travel in Sat, and can check my records for the contact info too.

Yes, Chris said he just might have one. I'll poke his contact info in your inbox on the way out; you guys can sort out the details.

Incidentallly,
Quoteand don't loose any of the balls from the right side plate thrust bearing assembly.
Don't worry about it; it comes as a fully assembled unit and the balls don't fall out.

That was a great design improvement...I suppose the new reels have CF drags too?

That is a good thing. That just means they last a long time. If you are seeing new ones, something must be wrong.

I am debating on keeping this reel or sending it back. The handle definitely took a good whack. Its bent on both ends. The slop on the end of the gear sleeve has me a little worried. My 14/0 is not like that.
It also is making a metallic noise when you crank it back and forth.
I will tear into it this weekend and take a peek inside. I have no worries. You take this chance every time you buy something off the net.
It is a beast of a reel.
My Wife was outside tanning when it arrived. I opened the box and removed it from the table.
I was ogling at it, and she came inside to get a drink.
She made the comment that it was the biggest reel she has ever seen.
Then came, how much did that cost? I said, Don't you worry about what it cost. ;)

I'd send it back. False advertising on eBay and you can get another 14/0 in single speed for the same price. IMO there's no sense in trying to repair a new reel....

I was thinking the same, your trying to fix someone else issues.
Don't get me wrong, I do it all the time, but considering where that reel came from, I would send it right back.
I'm sure he's offering you some $ to work with it, good chance that was already figured out on his end.
Just make sure to pull that right side plate if you were going to hold on to it and check everything closely. A bent handle at times isn't a good sign.
It looks like that reel has been dropped.
Good luck with whatever you decide and hopefully it work out for the best.

I had to start mentioning that we seem to get more boxes on the porch from Amazon than ebay or Mudholoe...lol

Sal, Joe and Chris,
You guys are absolutely right.
Sal, The seller hasn't offered me any money or to take it back yet.
I sent out four emails yesterday looking for a stand and handle. First to Everol USA , Everol Italy, DJ's reel repair in the Keys and Chris Martinelli.
Wouldn't you know, Everol Italy was the only response so far.
86 euro for a new stand and handle shipped. That's about $97 dollars.
If nothing else, this will be a learning experience to see how these tick.
I stayed up late last night ogling it some more. I straightened the lugs and found my 14/0 makes the same noises as this one.
The noises are the drag discs when there is no pressure on them.
