Is the handle bent? Or is it the handle not turning (i.e. stuck)?

The handle is loose where it connects to the handle grip (or vice versa). it is the new ergonomic handle grip.I tried to drill and re-tap (in the meantime bought two new handles from Shimano direct) but still want to have a solution

I believe they are riveted, your best bet may be to re-peen the rivet with a small punch, but that may only snug it up a little until it gets dropped or throttled again. If it's loose, your only option may be to get a new handle (like you did) or look for a beefed up aftermarket handle. Alan's handles are good. They may not be anodized and have gaudy skeletonizing, but they don't corrode and are very solid. I would never consider those types of handles, but that may be due to the fact that I have outgrown the flash and bling from my reel accessories.
