Ruben: There are protected areas like around Angel Island and in Raccoon Strait and around the turn at California City.  That does not mean there are fish there.  It is always hit and miss but good for halibut on some days.  If you were looking out into the ocean under the Golden Gate Bridge, don't let what you could see from inside the bay fool you.  I have made that mistake and it almost cost me.  Looking out from under the GG Bridge you are basically looking south into the horizon.  You can't see the swells and wind waves.  Come back in October.  That is when salmon fishing is best.  The seas really start to calm down mid August to November.  The salmon are at their biggest then.  What about fish did you catch any fish?  Dominick

This time of year, once you leave the GG, it can get snotty, foggy and just down right mean fast.

It's a beautiful day today, but it can be 15-20 kts of wind and 6-8' seas tomorrow. The marine forecast can be found with a little effort.
