Hello, all

I want to apologize in adanve for not having any pictures. I am currently at work.

A few days ago a friend of mines wanted me to upgrade his Revo SX with Boca bearings and a power handle. The disassembly, installation, servicing and reassembly went with out incident. I spun it a few times and everything was aligned and running great. I gave the reel back to him and he fished it the next day and that's where the troubles began. He said it casted great but the retrieve was rough/locking up. it would only lock up when the spool tensioner knob was slightly tightenend but subsided when set very low/almost off.

I got the reel back and upon inspection the trouble seems to be where the brakes are. On the outside, the cast control knob for the magnets was sunk in a bit and not creating that "clicking" noise when turned. On the inside, the clicker components were not aligned with the teeth/tracks that create the sound; rather sitting above them. In turn this is causing the gear (which is attached to the knob) to jut out past the magnetic brakes grinding into the spool itself. This was what's causing the rough retrieve. Now, the obvious solution is to place the clicker components back into the tracks however upon doing so, they do not stay there. The clicker assembly immediately jumps off the tracks when turning the knob causing it rub on the spool. I see no way that the brake knob/clicker assembly could stay put without the help of another part but there is nothing else that belongs there...not that I remember atleast when putting it back together.

Has anyone had this problem with the knob on the Revo SX? Does anyone have a photo of the brake/clicker assembly I can reference to? or perhaps a photo of the clicker assembly? The schematics on Abu's website don't really help as it shows the same schematics for almost every other reel and there are no tutorials/videos on these parts for this specific reel.

I am in dire need of help. Any info regarding the brake/click assembly would be much appreciated.

thank you,

-D.
