While pulling some shrimp pots ive found some interesting critters that live on the ocean floor. here is a couple photos I was able to snatch.  enjoy the view.     gst.

mr. tightlines replyed it might be a spider crab! it was moving slowly and was about 3 inch across. thanks for replying!  gst.

My opinion is it's too small to be a spider crab...I will say "DECORATOR CRAB"  Google search's are so cool

Oregonia gracilis Dana, 1851...Graceful Decorator Crab

I admit I was just flying by the seat of my pants on that one   The miniture spider crabs immediately came to mind *not the more common Giant Japanese variaty.

I guess I should stick to my specialty field...warm water Pelagics/Epipelagics.

If so, we may need to cut you off from the bar this June so that you don't inadvertently say something that makes Aiala toss you off the stern. Cuts into fishing time everytime we circle back to pull you out... ;)

Sorry everybody about the poor picture, but it was better than nothing!  its always "next time"!   but sometimes there is no more opportunity's!  I think Tim nailed it, I too shoulda googled it but that might have left you out again?
