Not taking anything away from your beautiful work, but I believe the screw heads would look better if they were black. Again, beautiful work, just my worthless opinion. ;D

Sal
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

I would like the screws black also. It will give it a contrast and look even better. I also like the way you tightened the screws. OCD for sure. I do the same thing!

Beautiful reel!

Is  Cerakote similar to what Lamson label as their "Hard Alox" coatings on their range of fly-reels?

I use the bake whenever possible. It's a bit more durable, easier with stenciling and of course there's the benefit of having parts ready to use in a couple of hours. Only time I buy the C-series (ambient cure) is for optics and high heat applications.

Haha I'll gladly do a reel here and there as long as its not an urgent request. Setting up a dedicated shop and starting a business is something we've been kicking around for awhile. So many hoops to jump through when it comes to firearms.

For all the info you need:

I don't know why they haven't combined their sites yet. They have a firearms site, which has expanded to the point that the gallery has a "not just guns" section where people have done everything from bicycles to boat props, and yet they still maintain a separate high temp site that features mostly automotive applications. Seems to me they'd benefit from combining them into one.

I'm not familiar with the coating. Is it still around? I'll have to check that out.

Thanks Daron. I'd be glad to do one of your big senators.... hmmm send it around the end of may or so and I'll get it back to you late October, early November? Maybe even a little sooner if the water temps drop to low.  ;D Kidding of course, I'd be glad to do it man, just let me know.

Thanks man, I struggled with that thought  but I decided I have to stick to my general house rule, "Use it or sell it, no safe-queens allowed".

Thanks guys. Definitely not taking anything away an definitely not a worthless opinion. I thought about doing the screws in black too. Nine times out of 10 I go for the contrast fastener theme. Reason I ended up going the way I did this time was that I hate Penn's flat head machine screws on the Senators. Hate Hate Hate them. I've yet to find suitable replacements for the 114 yet. Thought I'd found some a couple weeks back but they were too short, the guy had them measured in overall length instead of functional fastener length. So I went with the titanium finish hoping it would help them blend a bit and give me the illusion that they weren't there. From a distance and without the high resolution camera it kinda works. Until of course I get close enough and then I get mad all over again.

Thanks again for the kind words fellas, definitely means a lot coming from the members on this forum!
