I need to install a new dog spring on a jigmaster bridge but it doesn't seem to want to fit easily. Any tips? Thanks guys.

Its all in the Technique Sean. Its the last piece I put in.

On most Jigmasters, the dog spring has an attachment loop that goes over a pin on the bridge.

Just need a pair of tweezers -- push down the loop onto the pin -- align it with the dog to operate properly.

It is one of the easier dog spring assemblies -- or am I misunderstanding something here?

On most other dog springs -- I just slide the spring into place last like Daron sez -- then just rotate the bridge into position -- tighten the 4 bridge screws -- test the operation -- and it is done.

I may not be understanding -- that is entirely possible!

Hi Fred, I was inquiring about the technique used to place the loop on the spring over the pin on the bridge. I didn't think to use tweezers. A light bulb went off when Alan gave me his tip.

Perhaps, I didn't word it very articulately. I know how to put regular dog springs in Penn conventionals. I also have assembled several Jigmasters. I've just never had to replace the spring before. I knew where it needed to go but I couldn't get it to fit. The tweezers did the trick.
