When you get older sometimes you get tired as well!  Heres how to filet a halibut in the shade!

David Hall

Its only to bad you have to get down there on your knees to do that.  Wish I was there to help you out but it would take me three days to get off my knees!

Nice!

But what's up with ALL the sunshine?!?!?  :o You must be somewhere north of the RAIN! ;)

I heard K-town got more than 7 inches last Thursday due to the remnants of the Pacific hurricane passing through. With gusts to 80mph. :o

Good heavens! Look at that slab of meat.  :o  Fire up the grill. Yummy.  :D

By the way, does that fish need to be scaled?

gstours

No scales on flounders and halibut, but have smooth skin, unlike sturgeon or sharks.   The meat is white and very mild tasting!

On L.I. we scaled the Black Side of our Winter Flounder [Black Back & Yellow Tail] Summer Flounder [Fluke]. They do have Scales.

I have not failed.  I just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

I,m sorry, I was wrong on the flounders then!  I didn't think so as I remember.  We have small ones her we catch in the surf/shore but never keep them as they are about a foot long,  must be a nursery feeding area.  So I always release them.    So see I,m not a Bad Guy!!!!!

Gary

You are a good guy. Around N.Y. area we get a 2 month season [April 1 - May 30] & our Flounder have to be 12". Only keeping 2 Fish. Fluke [Summer Flounder] are another story Mid May - Mid Sept. 5 fish @ 18". This will change in 2016 there is talk of a 43% reduction coming for the whole area.
