I was lucky enough to grab some penn parts from the old penn.
These are right up my alley, i love to see how things are made, I have some interesting stuff here, i'm a happy camper.

This small lot even came with an older 650ss almost complete is new condition, not bad for $85

Can anyone tell me what these tools were used for, were they used for stamping?
I'm talking about the 3 pieces with teeth and the 3 pieces in front, those are heavy for their size.

I'm glad I grabbed these parts.

That some pretty cool stuff you've got there sal.  Maybe Mike, or someone else, knows a bit more about what some of that stuff is exactly?

I know all of the parts John, I have those reels, most are for spinners. I would like to know about these tools.
I thought I posted the pic, I'll do it here:

That's what I meant... unfinished parts..or tools.  Do you have any educated guesses?

John, if you look at the pic above, that half toothed circle on the left matches the tip of that tool.
I'm guessing the 3 pieces with teeth are stamping tools for ratchets, but not 100% on it.

I was thinking along the ssme lines, looks like a stamping, or rolling tool for a ratchet.  I see some 2 speed early International gear sleeves in the mix.  Interesting how Penn has their name stamped on that sheet of metal.  Not sure about those shafts... are they finished products?

The parts at the bottom, on the pic above are gear shafts for the 700 series. The penn stamped on the sheet of metal is the same name you see on their handles. If you look closer you could see the shape of the handles.
I bet I could get a few bucks for that piece alone from a collector, but none are for sale.

Sal,
The piece with 'Penn' stamped on it looks like a screwdriver/wrench combo tool.

Hi Sal;  an inquiziting mind is a terrible thing to waste!   Cool find for a penn dude!

PacRat

Looks like an International wrench stamping but it looks like it's for a scalloped handle nut rather than a hex nut like the wrench in the attached photo.

Three se7ens

The flat sheets with the holes cut in them look like drops from stampings, or more likely errors (not everything stamped properly).  The holes on the edges of these sheets are probably for an automatic feed on the stamping press.

The gear shapes with the square end look like the upper end of a stamping die.  Not much good without the matching lower die though.

Sal,
You say you got these parts from old penn?
Do you mean from the factory?
Just the reel and the three handles next to it are worth the price.
Just wondering how you came across these relics.

Thanks guys for helping out with some info.
Adam, defective stamped parts and some missing parts makes it that much more valuable to me. Think about it, I'm holding parts that a machinist from over 80 years ago used and not to mention they came from the best company in the world at that time ;D

Daron, I spotted these on line, I did not chase other bidders, I just gave it a bid of $110 and received an email that I won it at $85.
Good catch on old penn, yes these are from the old factory in Philadelphia from when they shot their doors.
I guesstimate this small lot to be over $500 in value, that is for the parts alone, way more valuable to me though.
I bet some collectors would go crazy for some of these scraps, but as I mentioned above, they're not for sale.
Here are a couple of closeups:
Some parts while being machined

some spool shafts on the upper left corner

Here is a shot of that almost complete 650SS

this reel looked a mess, but it now looks new

I have sold this particular older model 650SS for over $150 in the past.

Thanks again everyone.
