This is a pretty diverse group and I was wondering if the are any Amateur Radio operators here? I have not been that active in the past few years but did have a fair size station I built before we decided to move.
If you do operate what's your pleasure? HF, VHF, Dxing, Contesting, or general rag chewing?
There's got to be a few of you here that have hobbies other than fishing or hunting and also enjoy amateur radio? Yes ... No?

You missed me by 40+ yrs. I would bring my monster up to the C B Band [11 Meters] & blow everyone out. I would jar the TV's in the area except mine because I had a filter.

I have not failed.  I just found 10,000 ways that won't work.

Have a father in law who is heavily into his HAM radio, and does a scheduled broadcast on a Sunday morning.
Picks up the odd across the globe signal from time to time.
He seems to be forever modifying his antenna tower for better performance.
Could get you his call-sign and what frequency(s) he is on if you like?

Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.
