When I got off work today and headed home. I was greeted by goodies better than Christmas Morn.
Another 16/0 that doesn't look too shabby, and a 12/0 in the box from my Man Lou.
A 146 squidder and a 155 top off the cake.
Life is Good! ;)

STRIPER LOU

Wow, Santa did come early! Lots of new toys to work with.
Enjoy and thank you, regards,  ..  Lou

That 16/0 does look nice. Hope you catch a monster on it.

Bill B

Looks like the 12/0 just pupped the 146 and 155.....Good looking stock brother....Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

I don't know why Daron keeps playing with these midget reels when he has the 20/0.
I used to be in a constant state of improvement.  Now I'm in a constant state of renovation.

The 16/0 may be a midget compared to the mighty 20/0, but it is the biggest Senator in the world.
Pound for pound, they weigh the same.
I will snag a 16/0 in good shape whenever I get the chance. For $550, this one was a steal. ;)
It is like buying a gun, it is only going to go up in Value.

Yup, that would be a good deal. I paid $1100 for a new one with box 5-6 years ago, those were going crazy at the time.
Definitely a good investment, unless Penn decides to bring them back as they did the 14/0 :-\.

I really doubt that Sal. Nothing is impossible, but they would have to create that spool and stand again. The two key parts that set them apart.

Wouldn't be a big deal for them, they still have most of the old machinery, but probably not worth it to them.

If they did, I would be Happy. There aren't many like us Sal.
It would definitely be worth it to us. ;)

Of course. Even if they did, I'm sure the cost would be up there. This would be a good and bad situation for us, good for what we got, bad for where we're going :).
I'm glad I was strong enough to resist your amazing offer on the 20/0 Ferrari, I would have been in the poorhouse by now. Those things multiply like rabbits :).

That 20/0 deal and any other of those magnificent machines from Italy has gone south.
The agent in Portugal tried to keep my money and a few others without sending the merchandise.
Dom and myself are the only ones to have caught this one time deal.
I got my money back from paypal on my last purchase, but
The Fat Lady has sang. I got mine and am very happy to have been in the right place at the right time.

This is true.

The trend has been towards smaller reels that have much stronger brakes to shift to the braided lines.  Too, the two-speed reels have the advantage of the Senators' single speed, particularly in the large sizes when "winching" becomes important.  Third, the smaller brakes on the Senators may be subject to greater failure if exposed to extended, high speed, long, runs.  I'm not certain about this last point, as I've never seen a side by side comparison.

Given those changes in technology, one would think that the market for a re-introduced 16/0 would be very limited, and not economically feasible for Penn.  It may make sense for a smaller aftermarket entrepreneur, however (akin to Newell, etc).
